Case Study - AgFetch

Business Issue

AgFetch help farmers and contractors secure the best deals when buying farm machinery. They wished to build a dedicated trading platform to offer a better and more transparent buying experience.

We provided a full Design, Build and Manage service to AgFetch. During the Build phase we worked closely together with the Client to tailor the solution to their needs. Regular 'Show and Tell' meetings kept the Client informed about progress and allowed them to make adjustments along the way. After the initial solution had been delivered we continued to work with the AgFetch team to enhance the application based on their feedback.

Business Solution

There are two main components to the solution:

1: Product catalogue
2: Workflow & messaging application

Integration is provided with SalesForce, where the dealer information is maintained, and Realex for payments. Products are displayed in a 'Brochure site' developed on WordPress. The catalogue was designed to provide flexible, configurable filters to allow users find the equipment they need with minimal effort. “Smart URLs” allow for easy links to individual products or categories. The workflow & messaging application allows buyers to request quotes. These requests are then matched to dealers based on product details and buyer location. The solution includes dashboards for both buyers and dealers. The solution was developed in Java using the Grails and AngularJS frameworks. It is hosted on a Tomcat web server in Microsoft Azure.
