Contract/Full-Time Java Application Support Engineer*
Greenfinch Technology is looking for a driven support developer to join our growing engineering team in Dublin. You'll be working with a team of engineers and testers, supporting one of our main customers Java based products. You will be a hands-on support engineer who will work mainly on support issues to help maintain and deliver a reliable and robust product. Desired Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering degree program and receiving good grades
- Can demonstrate software development skills and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Good communication skills
- Good Understanding of Core Java Patterns
- Flexible
- Knowledge of Spring, Spring MVC and Strong Core Java Skills
- Experience in building RESTful APIs
- Advanced SQL coding and performance tuning skills
- Knowledge of Tomcat
- Knowledge of build tools and processes like Maven
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, ExtJS
- ActiveMQ knowledge is a benefit
- Microsoft certification is an advantage - App Builder or Azure certification.
What you will be doing
- Work in a Kanban fashion on support tasks
- Maintain system uptime and performance
- Actively monitor, log and respond to production application incidents
- You must understand network, database management and tomcat configuration
- While also supporting the application there will also be feature development work

Location & Hours
This a full-time role, based at our offices in Westland Row, Dublin 2, Ireland. We’re right beside the Pearse Street Dart station and close to several city centre bus stops.
We typically work 09:00 – 17.30 but it varies by person.
